I&M - Illinois & Midland Railroad Formed in February 1996, I&M purchased the majority of the assets of the former Chicago & Illinois Midland Railway Company, whose roots date back to 1889. We connect directly at multiple locations with Union Pacific, Burlington Northern-Santa Fe, Norfolk Southern and Canadian National. We also interchange with the Toledo, Peoria & Western and the Iowa Interstate in Peoria and with Kansas City Southern in Springfield. Through the Kansas City Southern, I&M also connects with CSX Transportation. This allows customers efficient, broad-based access to all rail points across North America.
